The mores serious side of animals and their owners !

Kevin has been called upon to contribute to BBC 2 Newsnight for many years.

One of the first occasions was when I was a young Councillor during Margaret Thatcher’s term of office.
Hyndburn (Accrington) was a marginal constituency for many years and Kevin and a number of other councillors were often called upon to give opinions by the programme. In fact, in 1990 ten minutes of the programme came from Kevin’s house in Oswaldtwistle and subsequently on the night of Margaret Thatcher’s resignation he was in the Newsnight studio in a table discussion on the future of Margaret Thatcher. His was the only voice on the table urging her to stay on. Needless to say – she didn’t heed his well meaning advice. She resigned the following morning.

Kevin remembers whispering into Jeremy Paxman’s ear just before he started the studio discussion – “Now don’t dare try to make any of us look foolish.” It didn’t stop him trying!

Also Kevin was often asked to contribute on a subject that he is most passionate about which is ‘The Dangerous Dogs Legislation’ and ‘Responsible Pet Ownership.’
